Who we are.
Member Benefits is a full-service insurance and financial services organization specializing in third-party administration of professional affinity group and association member benefit programs. We’ve been providing customized insurance products and employee benefit plans to our clients’ individual members and small employers for more than 40 years.
Member Benefits is headquartered in Jacksonville (FL), with an office in Austin (TX).
How it started.
The late Earl “Chip” Trefry, Jr., CLU, founded Member Benefits after graduating the University of Florida. Chip spent most of his career specializing in helping professionals with their insurance, financial, and estate planning needs.
Incorporated October 1, 1984, under the laws of The State of Florida and domiciled in Jacksonville, Florida, the company was formed to provide professionals and their small businesses with specialized insurance products, employee benefits, and advice. Member Benefits began working with associations in 1985 by providing the Duval County Bar Association with an exclusive disability income product. The program was then introduced on a state level to The Florida Bar in 1987.
Since then, Member Benefits has developed and enhanced a complete array of products and services designed for association members and their small businesses. Built on its long-standing reputation for superb customer care, Member Benefits has expanded its services throughout the country — becoming a leading provider of association member benefits solutions.
How it’s going.
From “fastest-growing” to “best places to work,” we’re honored to be recognized both nationally and regionally by groups such as Inc. Magazine, Florida Trend Magazine, The University of Florida, and the Jacksonville Business Journal.
